Insomnia

Writhing, Waking, Wanting to recapture that sweetness

The sweet unconscious bereavement of you

As states pass cognition sends envoys of darkness

Oh mindful wakefulness

How tormenting!

I seek unconsciousness in consciousness

In the task and toil of the everyday

Anything to serve a purpose

to progress through time quickly

Until I find myself locked in you

Embracing is my truth and beauty

As a man without spectacles

I grope through the blur until clarity reveals itself

Clouded, thwarted are my motives thoughts ambitions

Hazy is my existence without you near

As an ink blot mars a page with impurity

So has your distance besplattered the immaculate page of my mind

  1. Wow, I loved that! I always wished I could write poetry but I suck at is so I can just read yours now! Yessss!!! But really you’re a very talented writer.

  2. I am so glad that you are finally doing a blog, Nick so that people other than your close friends and family can easily access your musings.

My ex-creative writing teacher once told me that writing everyday is like doing sit-ups. It becomes easier with daily practice but harder when neglected.
